A rare case report of endovascular management of pediatric spinal arteriovenous malformation

Abstract Background Spinal arteriovenous malformations (AVM) consist of a heterogeneous group pathological vascular entities that affect the spinal cord parenchyma either directly or indirectly. Case presentation We present an unusual case malformation (type 2) in 18-month-old girl who presented with weakness both lower limbs and urinary incontinence. She was diagnosed AVM large intramedullary nidus paraspinal extension which managed endovascular embolization. Conclusion children can be debilitating. If early, patient taken up for embolization, is relatively safe procedure better neurological outcome. Our illustrates successful role interventional radiology treatment this rare condition.
